The oil canvas shows one of the twenty one interpretations of the view from Van Gogh's room during his stay at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Although dark this image has a lot of movement; this interpretation shows a blissful village before sunrise, with swirling stars and an illuminated crescent moon with the famous cypress tree brought forward in a silhouette.
