Something you may have seen hovering around on social media is that Hugh Jackman loves jigsaw puzzles!
In between starring in films such as X-Men, the Greatest Showman and on Broadway, Hugh loves to do jigsaw puzzles to relax and unwind
"After a show, if I could have my way, I’d eat something, and I’d just spend an hour doing a puzzle. I actually have to set my alarm to make myself go to bed because I can stay up till four o’clock in the morning doing puzzles.
I think it’s probably another form of meditation in a way. My mind, it stops my mind going. There is a weird sense of accomplishment, even in every piece. “Oh, I’ve got that piece!” It’s detail. It’s your zoning in on this image for a month and looking at it and looking at the detail. It’s just deeply satisfying to my mind, my being. I just feel very relaxed when I do it. "
Luckily for us, Hugh has great taste in Jigsaw Puzzles and has been spotted doing a fair few Wentworth Wooden Puzzles.
"This is no ordinary puzzle, these Wentworth Puzzles are the best..."
In June 2018, Hugh started to post progress pictures of his 1,500 piece Starry Night Wentworth Puzzle on Twitter and Instagram.
The progress pictures got so much attention, that he promised to do a live stream on Instagram when he was about to finish. Of course, he didn’t disappoint, and thousands of his fans tuned in to watch Hugh place the final piece in. However, it was what he did with the puzzle right after he finished, that people found the most interesting…
He was back at it again during lockdown, piecing together both “London, The Thames with View of the City of St.Paul” and an Extra Difficult version of “Manhattan Skyline”
We sent him a message to say that we hoped he enjoyed his puzzles, and thank you for mentioning us – we got the loveliest reply that now he had completed those two he would pass them on to the kid's ward at the nearby hospital!
Hugh also gave us a cheeky mention in a podcast interview he did with Tim Ferriss, which you can listen to and find out more here.
It seems that Hugh is a particular fan of Fine Art Puzzles, Location Jigsaws and our collection of challenging jigsaw puzzles so why not check out those categories to find your next puzzle, or shop one of the puzzles that Hugh has already featured on his social media…
One of Vincent Van Gogh’s most famous works, The oil canvas shows one of the 21 interpretations of the view from Van Gogh’s room during his stay at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Although dark, this image has a lot of movement; this interpretation shows a blissful village before sunrise, with swirling stars and an illuminated crescent moon with the famous cypress tree brought forward in a silhouette
Painter Giovanni Antonio Canal, better known as Canaletto was known for his grand scenes. This classic wooden jigsaw puzzle makes for a great gift for fine art fans. This is one of our all-time best selling puzzles.
