Springtime in Eskdale

James McIntosh Patrick's style has been compared to Breughel because of his bold colours and attention to detail. Springtime in Eskdale, is a detailed landscape painting of The Crooks in Eskdalemuir, Dumfriesshire which was the birthplace
of the famous civil engineer and architect Thomas Telford. This painting by Patrick was completed in 1934 and
was to mark the centenary of Telford’s death. In the middle ground we can see people visiting a cottage whilst further back
we can just make out a farmer ploughing his land. Further back we see a small river at the foot of a line of hills,
which rise into the background. The artist’s view of the scene is from a somewhat elevated position looking down at the farmland.
Featuring shaped puzzle pieces, called whimsies, designed to match the theme of the image for an entertaining experience.
Irregular shaped puzzle pieces for added challenge, including dissected corners, straight pieces within the puzzle and non straight pieces around the outside.
All our puzzles are made using wood from sustainably managed forests. The box is also made with recycled materials and no plastic is used in our packaging process.
Made in the heart of the British Countryside, this premium quality puzzle is a sustainable and durable product made to last for years to come.
Precision laser cutting ensures intricate jigsaw puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly.

How thick are the puzzle pieces? All of our puzzles are made from a 4mm thick sustainably sourced wooden composite.
What are whimsy pieces? Whimsies are essentially a puzzle piece crafted into a recognisable shape such as a flower or bird and are an historical link to the Victorian puzzle-making past. As the name suggests, the original Victorian puzzle cutters added the individual pieces on a whim and so the term ‘whimsy’ was born.
Do all puzzles have whimsy pieces? Our expert jigsaw designers incorporate whimsy pieces into all of our puzzles, apart from our ‘Extra Difficult’ range.
Where are Wentworth Wooden Puzzles made? We have been producing unique and intricately crafted wooden jigsaw puzzles at our factory in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside since 1991.
