Miranda
John William Waterhouse (1849–1917) was an English painter who embraced the Pre-Raphaelite style and subject matter. Many of his artworks were inspired by ancient Greek mythology, Arthurian legends, and literature.
Waterhouse painted versions of Miranda at the start and end of his career, in 1875 and 1916. The later version was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1916, a year before Waterhouse's death, and shows Miranda as witness to the storm and shipwreck inspired by The Tempest. Scenes from The Tempest were also interpreted by other artists, including Pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais.
A fantastic gift for fine art lovers or the perfect way to spend your time and while away the hours piecing together this Shakespearean-inspired fine art puzzle.

- How thick are the puzzle pieces?
All of our puzzles are made from a 4mm thick sustainably sourced wooden composite. - What are whimsy pieces?
Whimsies are essentially a puzzle piece crafted into a recognisable shape such as a flower or bird and are an historical link to the Victorian puzzle-making past. As the name suggests, the original Victorian puzzle cutters added the individual pieces on a whim and so the term ‘whimsy’ was born. - Do all puzzles have whimsy pieces?
Our expert jigsaw designers incorporate whimsy pieces into all of our puzzles, apart from our ‘Extra Difficult’ range. - Where are Wentworth Wooden Puzzles made?
