Highland Cattle
What could be more serene than looking out at a landscape of rolling scottish hills with a sparkling turquoise river running through?
This exsquisite artwork from Clive Madgwick is so evocative you can picture yourself standing on the hillside, peering down at the iconic highland cattle and quaint farmhouses. Can you feel yourself breathing in the fresh country air and atmosphere, and breathing out the everyday stresses and strains, as you piece this puzzle together?
Madgwick was best known for his English pastoral scenes, particularly of sleepy harbour towns, depictions of trout fisherman at work and rolling countrysides, which make his art a perfect match for traditional-style jigsaw puzzles. The image really comes to life on the wooden puzzle pieces and really highlights the details, themes and brush strokes in his work.

- How thick are the puzzle pieces?
All of our puzzles are made from a 4mm thick sustainably sourced wooden composite. - What are whimsy pieces?
Whimsies are essentially a puzzle piece crafted into a recognisable shape such as a flower or bird and are an historical link to the Victorian puzzle-making past. As the name suggests, the original Victorian puzzle cutters added the individual pieces on a whim and so the term ‘whimsy’ was born. - Do all puzzles have whimsy pieces?
Our expert jigsaw designers incorporate whimsy pieces into all of our puzzles, apart from our ‘Extra Difficult’ range. - Where are Wentworth Wooden Puzzles made?
We have been producing unique and intricately crafted wooden jigsaw puzzles at our factory in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside since 1991.
