Views at Tintagel Castle, Cornwall
From about the 5th to the 7th centuries AD Tintagel was an important stronghold, mainting trading links with far-off ports in the Mediterranean. In the 12th century, Geoffrey of Monmouth named it in his History of the Kings of Britain as the place where King Arthur was conceived, and large parts of the story of Tristan and Isolde were also set here. It?s likely that these legends inspired Richard, Earl of Cornwall to build his new castle here in the 1230s.
This puzzle features Arthurian whimsy pieces, as well as bespoke shapes of the spectacular footbridge bridge and the popular Gallos statue, which stands looking out to sea at the wild edge of the headland.

As the name suggests, the original Victorian puzzle cutters added the individual pieces on a whim and so the term ‘whimsy’ was born. - Do all puzzles have whimsy pieces?
